Welcome aboard and join us on a 17th century nautical voyage.Last year, one of our suppliers notified us that while native to the Caribbean, they had procured a West Indian Bay oil from trees introduced to India years prior. We let our imaginations set sail, traded some silver for a few other new materials, took the helm and began navigating.We started to make way with a fleet of citrus: grapefruit and two mandarin oils from Europe to provide a fresh, natural citrus top note. Compared to our Caribbean bay oils that we used in Grog and West Indies, we find this variety of bay sweeter and more pleasantly fragrant.Staying onboard with the theme, we consulted our charts and sourced florals from India: an absolute of jasmine, and one of pink lotus: an aquatic flower with a marine-like, earthy floral scent. Finally, we remained on course and added the spices: coriander, allspice and nutmeg.We present to you a distinctive scent, strong in citrus and florals, with an ever-present spicy aromatic bay note. Indian Bay will have you enjoying your morning shave on the deck of a merchant ship; sailing the seas destined for the Indian Ocean during the height of the spice trade.
